About Hervé Souhaut
Hervé Souhaut of Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet is one of the Northern Rhône’s most respected low-intervention growers, known for making Syrah with purity, energy, and drinkability. Based in Arlebosc in northern Ardèche, he works organically and is especially admired for wines that balance aromatic lift with a light touch.
Tasting Notes:
Perfumed and lively, this Syrah opens with violets, black olive tapenade, juicy plum, black cherry, and ripening strawberry, layered with peppercorn spice and a faint savory bacon-fat note. The palate is silky and fresh, with soft tannins, bright lift, and a graceful, almost weightless feel.
Food Recommendation:
Great with grilled meats, roast duck, char siu, mushroom dishes, lamb, and savory Asian plates with spice or smoke. Its freshness and gentle structure also make it very easy to drink slightly cool.
