Pascal Marchand’s approach straddles the fine line between tradition and innovation, a concept that is both Old World and New World in origin. Pascal seeks to express terroir like the true Burgundian he has become over the past three decades, while also expressing his New World roots, where gumption, hard work and forward-thinking foster continuous progress.

Thanks to meticulous vineyard work, Pascal can vinify gently (to coax out wonderful aromatics) and yet obtain long, complex flavours. As expressive as the wines may be, they always carry a certain je-ne-sais-quoi elegance and the gorgeous perfume that makes Burgundy lovers swoon.

Pascal has become one of the most respected personalities in Burgundy’s steeply traditional and highly competitive wine circles. As a friend, we have always known Pascal to be an inquisitive and sensitive wine taster, and it is not wrong to say that his vast tasting and collecting experience has spurred him to constantly evolve his winemaking approach. It is rare to find such humility and diligence, especially in a man who’s more than made a name for himself.

The source grapes are from Yonne, Viré-Clessé, and the bottom of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet

“A nose of great volume, and good freshness. Full, chiselled, line, melting flavour, great structure, long, deliciously long – Bravo!” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report

Food Recommendations: Hokkaido Scallops, Burrata, classic seafood dishes.
