2018 Martin & Anna Arndorfer, Riesling Handcrafted
ORIGIN: Kamptal, Austria
Martin and Anna Arndorfer, a charming young couple from perhaps Austria's most famous wine region, Kamptal. Both are descendants of famous winery owners, Anna of the Steininger family, and Martin of course, the Vesa of the Arndorfer family. In wine making, however, the couple follows their own view, respecting their roots. They are really found, since the history of the Arndorfer farm dates back to 1777, and in 1826, under its own name, it can be said that Anna and Martin are young, as their common vintage was in 2002.
The Handcrafted series, is natural, unsparing and unfiltered. Deep & golden cloudy. Citrusy, floral and sophisticated fruit. The flavor is intense, fruit forward and mineral. Grapes are hand harvested in early October from Wechselberg and Hasel, whose rocky and slate soils are optimal for Riesling and Grüner Veltliner varieties. Fermentation takes place without added yeast and lasts for 4 months.
Food Recommendation: Most of the dishes at Morsels, especially the Aged Duck Breast rice cake, and Firecracker Duroc Pulled Pork Pasta!
