2016 Girolamo Russo A'rina, Etna Rosso DOC
ORIGIN: Sicily, Italy
GRAPE: 94% Nerello Mascalese, 6% Nerello Cappuccio
Bright ruby. Popped and poured, this began opening up at the 15 minute mark and continued to grow for two hours. At full stride it has a lovely mix of aromas and flavors, especially red fruit with hints of menthol and mushrooms and fine tannins that emerge with air. It has a medium- body and a lively but modest residual sweetness emerges with maximum aeration. This is a delicious, structured, savory, well-integrated wine.
