2016 Domaine Vaisse, Terrasses du Larzac, Galibaou du Russe
ORIGIN: Languedoc, France
GRAPE: Syrah 50%, Mourvedre 50%
Special Notes: Organic
The estate is on its 2 hectares, in Puechabon, very close to the terroir of Aniane, that Pierre Vaïsse works his plots of syrah and mourvèdre distributed between red clays and pebbles; 2007 marks its first vintage. Between very wise yields and long maturing (more than 24 months), the estate's cuvées express themselves on distinguished, tapered materials, with a very elegant tactile approach - characteristic of the great wines of Terrasses du Larzac.
Dense, almost black color. An already very open nose, full of concentration, notes of tobacco, leather, chocolate, black cherry. The mouth is certainly very dense, but Pierre is looking for a permanent elegance and these wines age remarkably. To be enjoyed at room temperature, with decanting for 30-45 minutes to let the wine open.
