Located in the southern Côte de Bars region of Champagne is the village of Polisot, home to Champagne Marie Courtin. Created in 2005 by Dominique Moreau — the estate is named after her grandmother — Marie Courtin produces a series of single-vineyard, single-variety, single-vintage Champagnes from biodynamically farmed grapes on a hillside vineyard of 40-45 year old Pinot Noir vines. All grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts (for primary and secondary fermentation) and their is no dosage added upon disgorement. Her wines are electric and chiseled with an underlying power from her work among the vines and in the cellar.

The 2015 Résonance Extra Brut is 100% Pinot Noir from a single parcel of 35-40 year-old vines planted in clay and kimmerdigian limestone at the top of the slope where there is little topsoil. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, the wine is full of energy, tension and a saline mineral core with plenty of cut, depth and persistence. An absolutely stunning Champagne from a stellar farmer and winemaker.
