2018 Domaine de Belle Vue, Muscadet 'Granit-Les Perrières'
ORIGIN: Loire, France
Stunning Muscadet from one of the leading lights of the region.
Jerome Bretaudeau has made it his life's mission to produce serious Melon de Bourgogne in Muscadet. To that end, he utilises two different and distinctive vineyards, one with the famed 'Gabbro' soils that produces a softer more generous wine. And the second, with sandy soils over granitic bedrock. The wines from this vineyard are taut and fine, with a clear minerality and classic saline finish.
As the name suggests, this 'Granit' Muscadet comes from the second vineyard. It's crisp and finely etched, with oyster shell salinity, crushed rocks and a lemony acidity that drives through to the finish. A beautiful summer white, best paired with fresh seafood, or as a refreshing aperitif.
